Tom Burkett

Tom Burkett is a seasoned financial executive with over 20 years of progressive leadership experience in construction, development, and real estate finance. As Chief Financial Officer of Origin Construction, LLC, Tom is responsible for the company’s financial strategy, capital planning, risk management, treasury functions, and corporate growth initiatives. He plays a key role in supporting strategic decision-making, ensuring operational efficiency, and maintaining the company’s financial strength in a dynamic and expanding construction environment.

Prior to joining Origin Construction, Tom served as Sr. Vice President of Finance at Hernandez Construction & Development, where he helped lead the organization through a period of rapid growth—scaling revenues from $60M to over $200M and expanding operations into new markets. In this role, he oversaw finance, IT, HR, and Asset Management functions of the business while implementing an enterprise-wide ERP system, he also led fundraising efforts and raised in more than $30M of LP Investment Equity for multiple real estate development initiatives.

Previously, Tom held leadership roles including Director of Finance at Golden Sands General Contractors and Controller at Port Consolidated. He also served as Strategic Planning Manager at Sheltair Aviation, where he supported M&A activity and helped restructure the company’s financing into a $200M syndicated credit facility, significantly lowering its cost of capital and unlocking operational liquidity.

Tom holds a Master of Accountancy from Nova Southeastern University and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from Robert Morris University. He brings a hands-on, analytical approach to financial management and is passionate about building scalable systems that drive long-term value.
